Glass Elephant Figurines

blowing glass elephant Our love of the elephants is one of the reasons that it's one of our best selling glass figurines.

It doesn't matter if it's a pink elephant or a gold elephant... pendant or figurine.

But is an elephant really a lucky charm? Is it magical?

Where did the elephant's reputation for magic powers come from?

It's true that elephants are large and powerful animals and probably intelligent too. Maybe that's why they are symbols of strength and wisdom. glass elephant gift

I know that in India the elephant was used as a religious symbol in the Hindu faith.

Maybe the elephant attains old age and with it, wisdom.

Well if old age gives wisdom, I'm all for a lucky elephant.

As you can see here, I start with 2 glass rods when I begin any blown glass piece.

When I begin the glass elephant, I start with a large ball and begin shaping the legs first. Other people prefer to start with the head and ears, but I want my elephant to stand on his own.

Trunk Stay Up Please.

The elephant "trunk up" may have started with the Irish belief that a really lucky horseshoe must face upwards so the luck won't run out.
